Chamber Corner: Community Spirit, Historic Revitalization, and Super Sandwiches!
There’s something truly special about Walnut - it’s the people. Our town thrives because of the generous families and individuals who consistently volunteer their time, talents, and resources to make Walnut an even better place to call home.
You may have noticed some exciting work happening on the May and May building. Thanks to the generosity of Jim and Mary Lynn May, this historic structure has been donated to Walnut Main Street Revitalization and is currently undergoing brick tuckpointing. We’re so grateful for this gift and eager to see the transformation unfold.
The Walnut Chamber is thrilled to bring back our Super Sunday Sandwich fundraiser just in time for the "Big Game"! This event not only supports the Chamber but also brings people together as volunteers assemble delicious sandwiches. It’s been heartwarming to already hear from folks eager to pitch in to help.
Here’s how you can join the fun: Fresh Bread is $4.00, and the Super Sub Sandwich is $10.00. Place your orders by Friday, January 31st, by emailing director@walnutillinois.com or texting Angie Florschuetz at 815-970-0850 or Olivia Lennon at 815-915-3080. Curbside pickup will be on Saturday, February 8th, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. These sandwiches are perfect for your Super Bowl party - or just a treat for yourself!
If you’re looking for even more ways to get involved, consider joining the Walnut Chamber Board. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month, and we’d love to welcome new members to our small but mighty group.
Thank you for being a community that lifts each other up. Together, we make Walnut a truly special place. As always, shop Walnut whenever you can!
