Chamber Corner: Supporting Walnut Through the Winter Season
Brrr... it sure has been cold outside!
This past week’s winter weather brought a school closure for the kids, but it wasn’t exactly the fun snow day we had hoped for. The bitterly cold temperatures have also been tough on our local businesses. Some have had to close temporarily, while others have seen fewer customers as people prefer to stay indoors. Let’s remember to support our local businesses during this time— every little bit helps!
Fortunately, you don’t have to leave town for your essentials. Walnut Acres Country Store offers grocery delivery right to your door, making it easy to stay cozy while getting what you need. If cooking feels like too much effort, there are several great dining options in town ready to serve you a delicious meal.
Looking ahead, spring is just around the corner, and we’re excited for all the events it will bring. Mark your calendars for our annual Chamber Banquet on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Last year’s banquet was the first one I attended, and I was truly inspired by the stories of individuals who have contributed so much to our community. Walnut is filled with people who give their time, energy, and resources to make our town a better place, and it’s wonderful to have an opportunity to celebrate with them. More details about the event will be shared soon, so stay tuned!
In today’s paper, you’ll also find a post about this year’s Hall of Fame nominees. These individuals will be honored at the Chamber Banquet. If you have someone in mind who has made a significant impact in our community, please send their name and a brief paragraph about them to my email at director@walnutillinois.com for consideration.
As always, have a great week, and remember to shop local whenever you can. Supporting Walnut makes a difference!
