Chamber Corner: Two New Businesses
As we step into a brand new year, we are reminded of the many blessings and opportunities 2025 brings. Some exciting additions to Walnut are the grand openings of two new businesses that promise to enrich our community, foster sustainability, and support meaningful causes. Let’s welcome Thrift Parlor and Second Chance Resale Shop!
Mark your calendars! Thrift Parlor, a brand-new consignment and thrift store, is hosting its grand opening on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thrift Parlor will feature a selection of quality, pre-loved items, including clothes, shoes, home goods, jewelry, and more. It’s the perfect destination for those who enjoy shopping sustainably while finding unique treasures.
Not only can you shop for bargains, but you can also participate as a consignor! Set up a consignment account and turn your gently used items into cash while supporting a local business. Thrift Parlor is going to be a great addition to Walnut, so spread the word and make plans to attend the grand opening. Let’s come together to support sustainable shopping and celebrate this exciting new venture!
Another fantastic addition to Walnut is the upcoming Second Chance Resale Shop. This new, larger resale shop is an extension of Jubilee Evangelical Ministries, which operates Jubilee Bible Camp in Harmon, IL. Currently, the block building is undergoing repairs and remodeling to create a welcoming space for shoppers and donors alike.
What makes Second Chance Resale Shop truly special is its mission. Half of the profits will support Jubilee Bible Camp, and the other half will go directly back into our community through scholarships and donations.
The shop is slated to open in February 2025, and there are many ways you can get involved. Start saving your donations of gently used items, and consider volunteering to help this wonderful cause. Together, we can make a difference and ensure the success of this impactful business.
The arrival of these two businesses highlights the vibrant and welcoming spirit of Walnut. Let’s show our support by shopping local, spreading the word, and embracing these new opportunities to come together as a community.
Happy New Year, Walnut! Let’s make 2025 a year of growth, sustainability, and connection. See you at the shops!
